William C. Westfall
William was admitted to the Illinois bar in 2011. He
earned his J.D. from the Northern Illinois University College of
Law (2011) and his B.A. in English from the University of Notre
Dame (2008). During law school, William was an associate
justice of the Moot Court Society. He also spent a summer in
France, studying the European Union, and civil law generally, as
opposed to common law. And during his last year there, he drove to
Rockford each week to work at the school's legal aid clinic
representing indigent victims of domestic violence. In 2020,
William became Of Counsel to the firm.
Prior to joining RSG, William represented more than a dozen
units of local government as corporate counsel, various small
businesses, and regularly assisted clients with residential real
estate transactions, and criminal and immigration matters, all with
a focus on litigation. He is also an arbitrator, as well as
an administrative law judge. William leverages this
experience in the areas of commercial, municipal and general tort
litigation.
Finally, William is active in the local community. He has
served years on the Board of Directors for Head Start, the Notre
Dame Alumni Association, held different positions for the Bar
Associations, Ducks Unlimited and the National Wild Turkey
Federation, among others.
